8 Months Old!

Here are 8 highlights of 'all things Grace' at 8 months:

1. Butzes - My favorite thing right now: We taught Grace to "Butz" - I lean my forehead in and she does the same so our foreheads touch. This was invented by Grandma Bodensteiner many years ago. It's the sweetest thing ever in the morning after I nurse her, I hold her up to burp her and she butzes me and stays there a few seconds. Pure Heaven. This trick will come in handy during the cold/flu season - no kisses, just butzes.
   
2. Kisses - She now kisses us...mouth wide open. Next lesson: how to do a closed-mouth kiss.
3. Food - Grace is an awesome eater. She eats anything - her newest adventure is asparagus (pureed, of course). She makes a face but the little trooper keeps eating it!
4. Pointing - I love all the pictures of Kirk when he was little - he is pointing in 90% of them. Grace is now pointing at everything: people, books, up my nose...
5. Sleeping - She is a rock star sleeper. We put her down at night and for naps and she hugs her silky, rolls over and falls asleep. She has been sleeping through the night since 6 months.
6. First Word - We think she has already said her first word. Not sure that is even possible at 8 months, but she has consistently said "uh oh" for the past week (also not sure that "uh oh" is considered a "word"). Sometimes it's in context and sometimes it isn't... Does that count??
7. Moving - Grace isn't crawling yet, but she can move. At daycare where she has a wide open space, she rolls, pushes and scoots her way across the room. Note to self: must begin baby-proofing.
8. Disposition - Grace is such a happy baby. She smiles and laughs all the time. She rarely cries - when she wants something she lets us know in her own way: grunting, humming, etc.
